Physical and mental habits of tension are formed throughout the span of one’s lifetime and are manifested in everyday movement.
During a lesson, a certified Alexander Technique teacher will explain Alexander’s principles along with guiding the student through basic movements with gentle hands.
This includes:
standing, bending, sitting, moving into and out of a chair, walking, lying down, speaking and the student’s interests.
In this way, the student is able to learn about his/her particular habits, begin to notice them in daily life and gradually change them for the better.
